The HeArd supports the growth of theatrical ASL interpreters through understudy and shadowing opportunities.
This opportunity is intended for interpreters who are interested in theater, music, live performance, and accessible arts.
Understudies may have the opportunity to observe experienced theatrical interpreters, review scripts and lyrics, attend rehearsals or previews when available, learn about staging, lighting, placement, timing, character work, and musical interpretation, build skills in performance interpreting, and be considered for future opportunities with The HeArd.
Important note: Understudy opportunities are not guaranteed paid assignments. Availability depends on the show, venue, production timeline, interpreter team, and access needs.
